Several people have died and others were injured after a fire broke out at a New Year’s party in southern Switzerland, police confirmed.
The incident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. on January 1, 2026, at the Le Constellation lounge bar in Crans-Montana, located in the canton of Valais, according to Gaetan Lathion, spokesperson for Valais police.
“There are several injuries and several fatalities,” Lathion said. Authorities are currently responding to the scene and investigating the cause of the fire.
Emergency services have been deployed, and police are working to ensure the safety of guests and nearby residents. No further details have been released at this time.
