DHAKA, April 8 — Bangladesh have handed a maiden Test call-up to Tanzim Hasan Sakib for the upcoming two-match Test series against Zimbabwe, starting April 20 in Sylhet. The 22-year-old pacer, who has featured in 28 white-ball games for the national side, steps in as Taskin Ahmed misses the series due to an Achilles tendon injury.
Litton Das will also be unavailable owing to his Pakistan Super League commitments with Karachi Kings. Shahadat Hossain, Hasan Murad, and Shoriful Islam have been dropped from the squad that toured the West Indies in late 2024.
Veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim, who recently retired from ODIs after the Champions Trophy, retains his place in the red-ball format. The second Test will be played from April 28 in Chattogram.
