On December 11, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed the roster for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 player auction. The auction is set to take place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on December 19, 2023.

A total of 333 cricketers are slated to be part of the auction, comprising 214 Indian players and 119 overseas players, including two from associate nations. Among them, there are 116 capped players, 215 uncapped players, and 2 from associate nations.

Jay Shah, the BCCI Secretary, announced that there are 77 available slots, with a maximum of 30 allocated for overseas players. The highest reserve price is set at ₹2 crore, with 23 players opting for this bracket, and 13 players listed with a base price of ₹1.5 crore. The auction is scheduled to commence at 1 PM local time in Dubai, equivalent to 2:30 PM IST.

Ten franchises will be bidding for players, with a total salary cap of ₹262.95 crore. There are 77 available slots, including 30 for overseas players. Gujarat Titans have the highest salary cap at ₹38.15 crore, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (₹34 crore), Kolkata Knight Riders (₹32.7 crore), Chennai Super Kings (₹31.4 crore), and Punjab Kings (₹29.1 crore).

Conversely, the lowest salary cap belongs to Lucknow Super Giants at ₹13.15 crore, followed by Rajasthan Royals (₹14.5 crore), and Mumbai Indians (₹17.75 crore). The anticipation is high as the franchises gear up for the auction to secure their preferred players for the IPL 2024 season.
