The 2023 Asia Cup will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with Sri Lanka coming into the tournament as defending champions.They beat Pakistan by 23 runs in last year’s final to win their sixth title and first in the T20I format.

This edition will be its 16th and it will played over the ODI format. The six teams in the tournament will be divided into groups of three, and the bottom-placed team in each group will be eliminated after the first stage.

The remaining four teams will then go into the Super Four stage where they will each play each other once. The top two sides from the Super Four will clash in the final, at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on September 17.
