Shooting Incident Near Gampaha Bus Stand: Two Unidentified Gunmen Flee Scene
Gampaha, April 16 — A shooting incident was reported late last night near the public bus stand in Gampaha city, triggering concern among locals.
According to police sources, two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle opened fire on a small moving lorry before fleeing the scene.
The lorry, which was carrying two passengers at the time, came under attack in a busy part of the city. Both occupants quickly exited the vehicle and sought refuge in a nearby shop, escaping without any injuries, the police confirmed. The lorry, however, sustained damage in the incident.
Authorities say the motive for the shooting remains unclear. The Gampaha Police have launched a full-scale investigation and are working to identify and apprehend the suspects.
