Woman Hospitalized Following Early Morning Shooting Outside Colpetty Apartment Complex
A woman sustained injuries after an unidentified gunman opened fire from an apartment complex on 6th Lane in Colpetty during the early hours of Friday.
According to police, the incident took place at approximately 3:00 a.m. when a man, suspected to be on an upper floor of the residential building, allegedly discharged a firearm at two women standing outside.
One of the women suffered gunshot wounds during the attack and was promptly transported to the Colombo National Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Preliminary inquiries suggest the shooting was triggered by a personal dispute.
Officers from the Colpetty Police Station have launched an extensive investigation to identify the suspect and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
