Turkish Airlines Emergency Landing at Bandaranaike Airport Ends Safely

A Turkish Airlines Airbus A330 made a safe emergency landing at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake last night after reporting a landing gear malfunction. Flight TK-733, bound for Istanbul with 202 passengers and 10 crew members, encountered the technical issue shortly after takeoff.

Airport authorities prepared the runway for an emergency landing, deploying fire trucks, ambulances, and emergency teams. The pilot also conducted a precautionary fuel dump over the sea before landing.

All passengers were safely evacuated and are being accommodated in nearby hotels. The incident caused delays for other flights, while the aircraft is being moved for repairs.
