Asian Athletics Championships: Sri Lanka has eight medals
COLOMBO (News21); Sri Lanka despite not fielding some stars finished fourth with eight medals at the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand.
COLOMBO (News21); Sri Lanka despite not fielding some stars finished fourth with eight medals at the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Lankans finished only behind Japan, China and India on the medals tally. Sri Lanka won three gold medals, two silver medals and three bronze medals at the Championships in Bangkok.
Nadeesha Ramanayake won the gold medal in the Women’s 400m event while, Tharushi Karunarathna secured the gold medal in the Women’s 800m yesterday.
Sri Lanka also won a gold medal in the Men’s 4x400m Relay event held yesterday before the games were drawn to a close.
